RECENT RUN; # 154, 8TH July, 2018 at Castelnau-Magnoac:
Emerging from their Heated Horizontal positions, Hordes of Hitherto Hibernating Hashers Hove to. Heavens!! No less than 9 HHHashers …. appropriately, as this was to be their first GH3 Run for 9 months. It showed too, as they’d all put on weight.
Upon arrival at the scene of inaction, they all collapsed into the Sedentary position and ordered beer. Before the early-birds staggered into Vertical positions and finally started the “run”, several more hours elapsed. SHEEPSHAGGER drove in around 10.30 a.m. chez FRUIT MACHINE & PISSOLES. Having enjoyed FM’s Sunday Roast, we drove in convoy to St. Ost to collect GOIN’ ‘RONG, who was nursing a broken arm and off driving. By the time GR had donned Hash gear, it was gone 4 pm whereupon SS decided she must return to Mezin. It was after 4.30 when P, FM & GR pitched up at the Hotel Dupont bar, to be greeted by DR. DOOLITTLE and GOODY-SHERPA who had been waiting since 3 0’clock! AMNESIA appeared at around 4.45 …. And lo & behold … here comes JUNE CANNONS at 5 pm.
Full House? Not quite as CHANTERELLE didn’t appear until shortly after 6.30. Around this time, a message came from HEDGEHOCK, NAOMI & MR. BOO to say they wouldn’t make it in time (!) as they were still in the process of moving house. So, we were finally OFF, for the “run”, across the square, to the Memory Bar. All in all, a great social reunion and, paradoxically, the shortest run in GHHH’s 15 year history. But we discovered something useful, namely that the vaguer the instructions, the more Hashers crawl out of the woodwork. Let’s do it again!

Hare Goin’ ‘Rong
16 Hashers attended – age range 2 – 70 something, including 1 in a wheelchair and 4 virgins.
A typically glorious, sunny, hot, humid, August, Gers day. We set off with great enthusiasm and expectation, afterall, it was a while since many of us had Hashed. We quickly realized how hard it is to push a wheelchair and turns had to be taken as the afternoon heat began to build. After 5 minutes we were all off trail (although nobody realized at this point) and after 10 minutes we were all ready for a HH. 30+ minutes later we discovered we were off trail and that there was no HashHalt. Hashers became possessed by a cocktail of disbelief, raging thirst, Hare demolition and trail (or lack of it) examination.
30+ minutes later, we were reunited with our cheery, bemused Hare and we all agreed we should have a combined HashHalt/Circle on a grassy bank overlooking the glorious surrounding landscape. We sang Hashy Birthday to the youngest Hasher of the day and when asked, one of the virgins said she would NEVER Hash again!!!!
The Trail we should have followed was a delightful, rural route, past woodlands and a Chateau. It would be a great one to do another time.

3 Hashers attended at a truly delightful spot
Perfect hashing weather sun dipping in and out .....no dipping in the lake though!
One legged Fruit machine I have to say did a Sterling job of laying the trail! What a trouper.
An up hill down dale type of trail through the forest to start with , followed by a leisurely stroll round lake to finish off. A very spirit lifting choice for run.
A triangle rather than circle ensued......hard to create a circle with only three!
A down down or five or six followed.....oh and a few figs for good measure.....or good digestion.
On on until the next hash.

DIRECTIONS: AUSSOS is on D283 (St.Blancard – Meilhan). In Aussos, take the road next to the mairie & church, towards Peyrus; after 500m., turn right and then immediately left (at signposts to Parking etc.). After 600m. the road descends on gravel for a short distance to our Car Park on left.
AFTERWARDS: The trail will end back at Car Park for Circle etc.
